Azeezunbai courtesan (inspired by Nana) was as valiant lady usually found riding horse with Sepoys in male attire decorated with medals, armed with pistols
She was accused of providing shelters for to Shamsuddin Khan on Day of Mutiny . Her place was meeting place for SEPOYs.

Hazrat Begum Mahal (1820-1879) rebelled against the British during the Mutiny of 1857
After her husband (last NAWAB) had been exiled to Calcutta, she took charge of the affairs of Awadh and seized control of Lucknow.
She died in Kathmandu in 1879.

Another Courtesan Hussaini ? Not many sure but she supervised white prisoners for two weeks and finally ordered Sepoy Squad to fire.

These were unsung heroins who fought for NATION rather not like Zamindar and Rajas who were working to weaken Freedom movement.

After the Mutiny was crushed the properties of ‘Rebellions and mutineers’ were marked for seizure. The Prize Agents were deployed. The amount of seizure and amount reported were always of great disagreement.
The courtesans were subjected to confiscation of their properties

The courtesan were highest Individual tax payer as per CIVIC Tax records. The estimated seizure from Qaisar mahal itself 40 Million Pounds in 1857.
The Courtesan from Mogul Era were wealthier, Most respected before the Mutiny.
